Durant l'écriture de cette pièce, j'ai été concerné par la dualité et certaines proportions numériques. Au cours de l'écriture, j'ai trouvé un texte de la poète américaine Alice Fulton qui est entré en résonance avec ce que j'essayais de décrire dans la musique. J'ai alors intitulé ma pièce en paraphrasant une ligne de son poème dont voici un extrait :
“…The camera flashed & forgot. I, on the other hand, must practice my absent-mindedness, memory being awkward as a touch that goes unloved. …you choose an aerial view, the city angled to abstraction, …& mine is to praise the grain-iness that weaves expressively: your face.” – Alice Fulton
In writing this piece, I was concerned with duality and certain numerical proportions, and in the process of writing it, I came across a poem by American poet Alice Fulton that had resonance with what I was attempting to portray in the music. I then titled my piece by paraphrasing a line in her poem. Below are excerpts from the poem.
